Sarah is the personification of what Key Employment strives to achieve. Sarah commenced with Key Employment in January 2019 and through her hard work and dedication Sarah has managed to achieve her goal of completing her accredited training and finding employment.
When Sarah first commenced with Key she was struggling with her mental health and was withdrawn. Sarah was, however, determined to find employment. Sarah searched for jobs for some time but wasn’t successful and this was affecting her motivation and confidence. Her Consultant, Natalie, suggested a course to increase her employability but also to help with her social isolation and confidence. Sarah and her consultant decided on a Certificate 3 in Hospitality due to the high levels of employment in the industry in this area.
After her initial apprehension Sarah flourished in the course with the trainer describing her as the “star student.” Sarah was always eager to learn in the classroom and her confidence soared. Sarah was able to secure work placement with a local hotel and proved to them that she was such an asset that she was offered ongoing employment. Sarah is now thriving in employment and has stepped up to a manager position will a team member is on leave. She was very thrilled to win the achievement award at the recent NSW State Training Awards and can’t wait to show off her trophy at Key and her workplace. She even got a hug from her boss at the pub, something that never happens.
“I like KAPOW because I can do the work well and the trainers are accepting. It is better than school and is helping get me a job.”
“I am treated like an equal individual and my opinions are listened to with respect and courtesy, and the people at Key Training make me feel like a valued member of the community.”
“Before becoming a client of Key Employment I had tried to get a job part time. My friends were all getting jobs, but I wasn’t able to get one. I also found trying to apply for jobs on the internet hard because I am dyslexic. Thanks to Key Employment I am now employed as a kitchen hand.”
“Key contact me or the boss regularly and make sure I don’t need anything to maintain my job.”
“Key Employment are helping me get my driving licence by providing free driving lessons to help me along the way.”
