KIKSTART is a work preparation program, it provides flexible, group and Individual support to build capacity and employment skills.

The program has seven lessons.  The objective of each lesson is:

  1. Choose: What do I want to do? – Understanding what types of jobs there are, what you may be suited to and what is involved.
  2. Assess: What do I know about myself? -What Vocational and Non-vocational skills you need, the skills you already have and how interests and hobbies can be used to develop into employability skills.
  3. Find: How do I get work? – Where and how to find work and how do I get there (transport training, navigation and orientation).
  4. Build: Am I confident and healthy? – Building confidence and understanding of work ethics and conflict resolution. Learn how to be healthy and how that can help you in your employment journey.
  5. Prepare: Am I ready? – Preparation skills to attend job interviews, personal grooming and hygiene and time management and organisation skills.
  6. Practice: Can I do it? – Students will learn employability skills and put these into practice through a pop up business you will help create and implement.
  7. Safety: What is safety in the work place? – Students will learn practical and theory on Work health and safety
